I am ordering furniture, what do I need to know?

Amazing! We are happy to help. All order are available for in-store pickup or you may set up local delivery for an additional charge. ETA and Vendor Policies are subject to change. Some vendors require minimum sized order before releasing due to shipping and freight policies. If you need an item in a certain time frame, please reach out to us clearly inform us prior to your purchase. We will do our best to accomodate your request however we can not guarantee on time arrival in these situations

Once your order is placed, we will reach out with ETA updates and will inform you when your order is in transit. We will cover the shipping fee to the store. The customer is responsible for the cost and scheduling a pick-up or delivery of your item(s) once the piece arrives to the store. The delivery fee is paid by the customer.

Please note: All Vintage Furniture is Final Sale/ As - Is.

What is your return policy?

All special orders are considered a final sale and are not eligible for returns or refunds. Please be sure that the item will fit into your space and be able to be delivered into your home prior to placing your order.

  • If your item is in stock and not considered a special order, it can be returned within 14 days for store credit. Customer is responsible for the return shipping fee if applicable.

  • Returned items must have no visible signs of wear or use.

  • Discounted items are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.

How will my order be fulfilled?

Most of our items such as furniture, artwork and other large pieces are in-store pick up only. Most vendors do require for items to be delivered to a store front/ loading dock. Therefore most will not allow for home delivery. However, if you need anything delivered out of state there are third party delivery options that may be available for you.

Smaller accessories may be shipped for an additionally fee based on weight. Cost will be calculated at checkout.

How do I get my furniture delivered?

We work with a few local Chicago delivery partners. You will be responsible for the delivery fee and assembly, if needed. If you need help setting this up, We are happy to help you set up a time with one of our recommended delivery companies. Large furniture must be picked up within 72 hours of delivery to the store or purchase of item. If you need a longer pick-up window, we have short term storage options available for a fee.

Can I pick up my order at the store?

Yes! With larger furniture we do highly recommend working with a professional delivery company. However, you are welcome to pick up the pieces yourself! Please give us a call to set up a time for pick-up.

What is your pick-up policy?

Our policies are as follows:

  • Furniture and Large Item purchases must be picked up within 72 hours after purchase.

  • If you need additional time for pick-up we may offer a short term storage option at $10/day or $50/week until order has been picked up.

  • Due to safety, District staff is limited to the amount of weight they are capable of lifting and may not be able to assist in loading pick-up vehicles with furniture. Please be sure to bring help if you are doing a self pick up. Please note, wrapping materials are not provided by District. We recommend bringing blankets, tape, etc.

  • We highly recommend scheduling delivery with a professional delivery company. We have recommendations and can help set up delivery if needed.

What is your cancellation fee?

Special orders for furniture and artwork are final sale. The order with our vendor is placed immediately after purchase and is not eligible for any cancellations or refunds.

On smaller accessories, you may be able to cancel your order as long as the item has not shipped.

What should I know about your vintage pieces?

Vintage pieces have been around for many years and will show imperfections over time. We do our best to restore our vintage pieces. Please note that through time, pieces may get slightly damaged so you may see some vintage wear on the pieces. Please rest assured that we will let you know of any wear and tear prior to your purchase. Additionally, we ensure that any wear and tear does not affect the overall usage of the piece that you are purchasing.

We update our available vintage gallery every Monday. The pieces that you see may not be available as they are being sold at the store. The most up to date stock will be shared on our instagram page. If you have any interest in the pieces that are available, reach out as soon as possible to better your chance of purchase.

I received my order and it is damaged, what do I do?

Not to worry! We will do our very best to get the best solution for you. Please see below the process timeline for your order.

Furniture - If there is any damage on your order, contact us right away! We always inspect furniture before it gets picked up by you or your delivery person to ensure that the item did not arrive damaged from the vendor. We are not held responsible for damage caused during pick-up or delivery. However, if there is a manufacture issue, please send us images or videos to info@districtchicago.com so that we can work on a resolution with the vendor as soon as possible. Most items come with at least a 1 year warranty from the vendor.

Floor Model final sales do not have a warranty and are not eligible for return, refund or replacement.

Accessories or other purchases, please send us images of the damage within 24 hours of delivery with the issue. If the damage occurred during shipping, we will also require images of the damaged box to send in a claim to the shipping company. We will then work on a resolution for you.

My order is taking a long time, what can I do?

We are not able to guarantee shipping dates due to delays from the shipper. We have no control over operations and issues with the shipping company.

Do you offer gift cards?

We do! At this time, gift cards must be purchased at the store and are available in any denomination.
